If I Subtract All the Time I Have Spent Uselessly Surfing the Internet
2020, semi-transparent mirror, monitor, website, database, 165 × 45 cm
The piece refers to the enormous amount of time we spend on the Internet every day – most of it pointlessly. A specially programmed website documents the artist‘s usage down to the minute, then calculates what the current date would be if one were to subtract all the time he has spent on the Internet. This bygone date
is continuously updated and displayed digitally on the mirror.
